A Magical Snow Day at Cropwell Bishop!

What an extraordinary day it has been at Cropwell Bishop Primary School! This morning, we woke up to a blanket of snow—a rare sight for November. With temperatures dipping to a frosty -2°C, the playground and school field transformed into a winter wonderland, much to the delight of our students.

During break and lunchtime, the children made the most of this early snowfall. The school field was a hub of activity, with snowmen of all shapes and sizes popping up, each with its own creative twist. From classic carrot noses to snow sculptures with twigs and stones, the students’ creativity was on full display.

Meanwhile, others enjoyed making snow angels, leaving beautiful patterns in the fresh snow. Laughter filled the air as the children embraced the cold with excitement and energy. Staff ensured everyone stayed warm and safe, reminding students to wear their hats, scarves, and gloves.

Although it’s unusual to see snow this early in the season, it brought a magical start to the day and gave our school community a chance to enjoy the simple joys of winter. Let’s hope for more snowy surprises as we head into the festive season!

Our School Website Club captured the magic of the day by interviewing a variety of children during playtime to hear their thoughts about the snow. Here are some of their recordings:
